Volunteers

Did you know that every amateur athletics club in the UK is run by volunteers? With the exception of some junior section coaches, most UK Athletics coaches, and assistant coaches/leaders, are not paid for the coaching they provide, nor are committee members who keep the club running. Our admin staff, parents, coaches and officials are a key component of athletics in the UK, and without them the sport would cease to exist in the UK as we know it.

All the clubs in the Surrey Athletics Network are seeking more volunteers to fill a variety of roles, particularly in coaching, as youngsters are being placed on waiting lists due to junior sections being at capacity. If you would like to find out more about volunteering opportunities within the network please view our athletics volunteer poster, or find us on facebook by seraching ‘south surrey athletics’.
